The both turtle and Tortoise comes under Reptiles but they are classified under different Families. Lets Start from Basic.
What is Turtle?
- Turtles are reptiles which Spends most of its life in Water and a bit in Land. it comes under the Chelonian family.
- Both Turtles and tortoise have Shells, but the Shell of Turtles is Streamlined and Shells are Flat.
- Also a major differnce between Turtles is they are Omnivorous, which means they can eat both Meat and also Veggies.
- The Average number of years a Turtle can Live is around 20 to 40 years.
- Turtles are mostly found in mostly in all places like Africa, America, Asia, Australia.Also most the Turtle Species in Extinction.

- Both Turtles and tortoise have Shells, But tortoise are Large also they have Dome-shaped Shell.
- Generally tortoise are Herbivores,(which eats only plants) but some species of Tortoise eats some very small beings.
- The average number of years a tortoise can live is 80-150 years. The longest lived Tortoise is 326 years old.
- Tortoise are mostly found in mostly in all places like Africa, America, Asia, Australia. Also most the Tortoise Species in Extinction.

Conclusion :
- The both Tortoise and Turtle have shells, shells are attached to their body. The first part of shells is directly attached to their bones by ribs.
- Both turtle and Tortoise don't have very good hearing power.
- Turtles and tortoise will lay around 25 - 200 eggs in a small amount of sand, A sad part is most os them are eaten by predators like crows.
- Even after they born, they dont have shell to protect themselves,so the chance of living for a turtle or tortoise is very less.
