- It was the night of September 22, 1914. A German light cruiser, SMS Emden, waved in the dark waters of Bay of Bengal and entered the Madras harbor without being noticed.
- In the Year of 1914, A
German cruiser Ship named SMS Emden entered into the waters of
bay of Bengal and entered into the madras
harbour without any observation.
- The German ship, captain Karl fired a
volley of shots at the Burma Oil company tankers which were dumped at the
harbour.
- Immediately, the Burma oil tankers went up
to flames contains 5000 tons of Kerosene. Emden also fired on the
port area, that have killed 5 lives and injured 13.
- Also the shots have hit several constructions,
even the walls of the madras high court.
- When the madras port fired back, Emden is already on the way the black waters of bay of Bengal.
